In Orbit, 60x80cm, oil on canvas, 2024

My paintings explore the human impulse to find meaning within complexity. Each work begins with an allover pattern that functions as a generative field- a visual continuum from which images, relationships and narratives gradually emerge. Rather than starting with a predetermined composition, I work through a process of discovery, identifying forms within the pattern and allowing them to develop through association, selection and transformation.
The paintings also incorporate shapes, markings and motifs collected from the urban environment. These found forms, encountered in architecture, signage, fragments and incidental structures, are removed from their original contexts and reintroduced into the pictorial field. I approach these marks as material records of events whose histories remain largely inaccessible. Alongside gestural elements drawn from abstract expressionism, they become part of a visual language that oscillates between recognition and ambiguity.
I am interested in the moment when pattern becomes image and image becomes story. The process mirrors a broader human tendency to organize experience into narratives, to perceive connections among disparate events, and to construct significance from uncertainty. Meaning in these works is neither fully discovered nor entirely invented. It emerges through the interaction of chance, observation, memory and artistic intervention.
The resulting compositions occupy a space between abstraction and representation. Figures, symbols and narratives appear to surface from a larger field of possibilities, inviting viewers to participate in the act of interpretation. In this way the paintings investigate not only what we see_ how fragments become whole, how relationships are formed and how meaning itself is composed.
